Mis Cotos does not collect, store or share your personal data on the developer’s servers. There are no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your hunting grounds, stands, photos and hunting days are stored on your own device. The app only connects to the internet to download maps and to look up the wind, as explained below.
The app is published by Jose Antonio Valero Sanchez. If you have any question about this policy, write to soporte@miscotos.app.
Mis Cotos stores on your device the information you enter: hunting grounds, stands (name, description, coordinates and photographs), zones, boundaries loaded from GPX files, access routes, hunting days with their harvest records and sightings, and your settings. This information is not sent to the developer or to any server of ours. It is deleted when you delete the app (except for the iCloud backups you may have made, see below).
To work, the app connects to the following services. These connections are made directly from your device to each service; the developer neither receives nor records them.
| Service | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple WeatherKit | Looking up the wind. | The coordinates of the point looked up (a stand or the center of the map). It is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. |
| Apple Maps | The aerial (satellite) map layer. | The usual Apple Maps requests. It is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. |
| Topographic map servers: IGN Spain, IGN France, swisstopo, Kartverket, USGS, BKG or OpenTopoMap | Showing and, if you ask for it, downloading the topographic map of the country chosen in Settings. Only the server of that country is used. | Your IP address and the tiles requested, which correspond to the area of the map you are viewing. |
| Google Maps | Only if you tap “Open in Google Maps” or a link in an exported PDF. | Google Maps (the app or the browser) opens with the stand’s coordinates. From then on, Google’s privacy policy applies. |
If you turn on the backup (manual or automatic weekly) in Settings, Mis Cotos saves .cotoexport files with your hunting grounds in your iCloud Drive, inside the app’s folder. Apple manages those files under its own policy and the iCloud terms; the developer has no access to them. You can delete them from the Files app > iCloud Drive > Mis Cotos.
When you export a hunting ground, a PDF, a KML or a CSV, the file is created on your device and you send it wherever you choose with the system share sheet (AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Files…). The files may contain coordinates, photos and descriptions of your stands, so share them only with people you trust.
The data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud backups stay until you delete them.
The app is not aimed at children and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Because the developer does not collect or process your personal data, there is no data of yours to access, correct or delete. If you have questions or believe something has gone wrong, write to the contact email. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).
If this policy changes (for example, when new features or services are added), we will publish the new version on this page and update the date.
